Wendy was born in Northern Ontario and has been living in Nova Scotia for most of her life.
She is a self-taught artist who has been painting in watercolor since 1991, with a focus on life in her community of Hackett's Cove and the province of Nova Scotia.
Wendy comes by her love for painting naturally - she is the daughter of French Village Painter Patricia Kew Ahern and the granddaughter of well-known Ontario artist - author, the late George Lawrence Cassidy.
Wendy's paintings are better travelled than she is! Her paintings are in homes in many parts of Canada, the U.S.A, Australia, England, Japan, South Korea, and Germany.
At least half of the work she does is by commission, sometimes for gift giving and sometimes for personal collections. Wendy is well-practised at painting Nova Scotia scenery, flowers, figures, birds, pets & other animals, buildings, street scenes and still life.
From a painting as small as 5" x 5" to one as large as 27" x 35" Wendy has something for every budget. She buys her frames from the Ivan Fraser Studio in Glen Margaret, Nova Scotia, www.peggyscove.net usually choosing wood mouldings in muted gold or silver to match any decor.
